Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Baptiste Maurer kicked off to start the match. If Alois Zihler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stefan Unternährer hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Alois Zihler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silvester Alessandro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Goran Pfeiffer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silvester Alessandro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alois Zihler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 22 minutes Winterthur's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sandro Geiger who took care of the corner kick. In the 22nd match minute, Fc Schönenwerd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bob Merkt to maneuver through the defense. Henri Weiss didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Winterthur's Allan Perktold shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Henri Weiss made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matt Rösli in the 27th minute of play. Matt Rösli blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Henri Weiss having to make a save. Henri Weiss made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Allan Perktold sent off a good shot on target. Allan Perktold who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Henri Weiss when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Allan Perktold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henri Weiss having to interfere. When Bob Merkt fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc Schönenwerd's protests and gave Bob Merkt a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 played minutes Fc Schönenwerd got a freekick which was hit by Bob Merkt. Eugen Uliassi, 41 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 46th minute, Matt Rösli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 65th minute Matt Rösli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henri Weiss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 66 minutes into the game, one of Fc Schönenwerd:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. A collision led to Winterthur getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Allan Perktold hit a great ball. Goran Pfeiffers short, quick shot in the 74thth minute got Silvester Alessandro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugen Uliassi in the 93rd minute of play forced Fc Schönenwerd's goalkeeper Henri Weiss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Allan Perktold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henri Weiss having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Winterthur fans cheered their team off the field, for while Fc Schönenwerd had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
