Spectators: 8000 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1840, VIP seats: 160) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Allan Perktold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felicien Bourgouin having to interfere. In the 21st minute of the match Gregg Nietlispach shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Felicien Bourgouin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Romanel HC's zone, Matt Rösli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felicien Bourgouin came out of the goal and Matt Rösli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gregg Nietlispach took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Felicien Bourgouin. Romanel HC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matt Rösli in the 31st minute of play forced Romanel HC's goalkeeper Felicien Bourgouin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peder Meisser charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Peder Meisser the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Romanel HC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Peder Meisser hit a great ball. Stefan Unternährer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Felicien Bourgouin having to make a save. When Sebastian Trolla fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Romanel HC's protests and gave Sebastian Trolla a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Sebastian Trolla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the match, Winterthur's Eugen Uliassi broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of Winterthur booed when Romanel HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Markus Gassmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastian Trolla hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Matt Rösli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Felicien Bourgouin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romanel HC's Felicien Bourgouin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matt Rösli in the 43rd minute of play. Felicien Bourgouin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matt Rösli in the 45th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Allan Perktold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felicien Bourgouin having to interfere. After 53 played minutes Romanel HC got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Trolla. With a little luck, Romanel HC's Felicien Bourgouin got control of the ball when Allan Perktold tried to sneak it across the goal line. Felicien Bourgouin was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Matt Rösli showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 58 minute of play. After 62nd play minutes Markus Gassmann shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Silvester Alessandro and just under the crossbar into goal. Felicien Bourgouin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Allan Perktold in the 69th minute. Allan Perktold received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute.
