The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rdth minute of the game Sidonius Eisenhauer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Zürich's Jared Labrie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Georges Wermelinger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jared Labrie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidonius Eisenhauer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the AG.S. Rhäzüns FC defense, Thoralf Betz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonas Lütolf. The AG.S. Rhäzüns FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonas Lütolf should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Maxime Geisseler managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Zürich's supporters rose to their feet, but Maxime Geisseler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonas Lütolf breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jared Labrie didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Georges Wermelinger went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Thoralf Betz struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Jonas Lütolf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Zürich. Maxime Geisseler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thoralf Betz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in AG.S. Rhäzüns FC's zone, Thoralf Betz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonas Lütolf came out of the goal and Thoralf Betz tried to chip the ball over his head. In the 33rd minute, Thoralf Betz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, AG.S. Rhäzüns FC's goal looked a bit too open when Thoralf Betz came free, but Jonas Lütolf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 53rd minute, FC Zürich's Maxime Geisseler dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Sidonius Eisenhauer managed to get in a good position for a shot. AG.S. Rhäzüns FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sidonius Eisenhauer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. When Maxime Geisseler fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Zürich's protests and gave Maxime Geisseler a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Zürich's Maxime Geisseler got a free kick in the 68th minute. Maxime Geisseler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidonius Eisenhauer in the 76th minute of play forced FC Zürich's goalkeeper Jared Labrie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute, Sidonius Eisenhauer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AG.S. Rhäzüns FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Thoralf Betz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonas Lütolf read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Andrea Bögli hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Maxime Geisseler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonas Lütolf having to interfere.
