In the 6th minute Baldo Wollstadt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jared Labrie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the FC Zürich defense, John Schenker kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jared Labrie. The FC Zürich fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jared Labrie should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Baldo Wollstadt during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Baldo Wollstadt kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Claudius Wiesi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 20 minutes of play, 1. FC Vatikan's John Schenker made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jared Labrie was left in no man's land by his defense there! FC Zürich's Jared Labrie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save FC Zürich from getting a goal against them. Thoralf Betz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. John Schenker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jared Labrie having to interfere. Leonello Henseler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maxime Geisseler in the 36th minute of play. In the 41st minute, 1. FC Vatikan's Patrick Bregenzer ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jared Labrie. Jared Labrie yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Jared Labrie made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Schenker in the 46th minute. Patrick Bregenzer's late challenge caught a FC Zürich's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patrick Bregenzer helped the player get up and apologised. After 48 played minutes 1. FC Vatikan got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Bregenzer.

Jared Labrie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baldo Wollstadt, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After 54 played minutes FC Zürich got a freekick which was hit by Claudius Wiesi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldo Wollstadt in the 83rd minute of play forced FC Zürich's goalkeeper Jared Labrie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Zürich's Pascal Rothschild got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 91st minute, Baldo Wollstadt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The 1. FC Vatikan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Thoralf Betz struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Leonello Henseler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Zürich.
