The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, one of Gritschach FSV:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. A hard shot 16 in the game by Bernd Unterligauer from a close distance when the talented Marcel Dürr managed to make a qualified save. Gritschach FSV's players were relieved. Bernd Unterligauer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Marcel Dürr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 25 played minutes Gritschach FSV got a freekick which was hit by Torsten Voss. Oliver Kaindl kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Marcel Dürr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andy Joppe in the 28th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andy Joppe in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcel Dürr saved Gritschach FSV from getting behind. With a little luck, Gritschach FSV's Marcel Dürr got control of the ball when Bernd Unterligauer tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Björn Roth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leon Gerat's late challenge caught a Gritschach FSV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leon Gerat helped the player get up and apologised. Björn Roth struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Klaus Koehler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gritschach FSV. Klaus Koehler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oliver Krückmann's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. After a rather tough play, SK Sturm II's Steffen Frommer got a free kick in the 44th minute. After 46 played minutes Gritschach FSV got a freekick which was hit by Björn Roth. If Andy Joppe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Björn Roth stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Joppe in the 52nd minute of play forced Gritschach FSV's goalkeeper Marcel Dürr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
