Corneliu Piţurcă charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Corneliu Piţurcă the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gurgueti's Corneliu Piţurcă got a free kick in the 13th minute. Tomaž Benedičič could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Adam Elenescu made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marian Ţintea during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee gave Corneliu Piţurcă a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After having played for 34 minutes, Tomaž Benedičič managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ideea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomaž Benedičič was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Ideea booed when Gurgueti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosmin Lăzan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Doru Chirilă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marian Ţintea, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomaž Benedičič stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Ideea's goal looked a bit too open when Răzvan Popoacă came free, but Doru Chirilă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gurgueti's supporters rose to their feet, but Marian Ţintea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doru Chirilă breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 89 minutes, Marian Ţintea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Ideea were victorious despite being under pressure from Gurgueti for much of the match.
