ProRapid's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Norberto Cresconio in the 5th minute. ProRapid's Jarl Kilstedt was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Toader Purcărete in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Albert Baltian came free with the goalkeeper in the 6th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Toader Purcărete could save by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albert Baltian in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Toader Purcărete saved Super Team from getting behind. When Hipolito Cordarrell fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Super Team's protests and gave Hipolito Cordarrell a yellow card for diving instead. After 12 played minutes Super Team got a freekick which was hit by Hipolito Cordarrell. The crowd rose to their feet as Albert Baltian kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Toader Purcărete. That made the score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. Toader Purcărete was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jarl Kilstedt's late challenge caught a Super Team's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jarl Kilstedt helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th match minute, ProRapid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarl Kilstedt to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Albert Baltian made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Super Team's goal looked a bit too open when Gökay Güngör came free, but Toader Purcărete reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Toader Purcărete took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albert Baltian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ProRapid's Ben Hoes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save ProRapid from getting a goal against them. Super Team's Toader Purcărete played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Baltian in the 64th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, ProRapid's goal looked a bit too open when Hüseyin Kakisim came free, but Ben Hoes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ben Hoes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marius Gherghe in the 70th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gökay Güngör in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Toader Purcărete prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Super Team's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Norberto Cresconio was slow to take the kick. During this time ProRapid's players had a chance to rest. In the 77th minute, Mugurel Jumancă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Ciprian Romaşcanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Super Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Ciprian Romaşcanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ben Hoes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Toader Purcărete showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albert Baltian, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Mihai Lera hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the game, Super Team's Hüseyin Kakisim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ben Hoes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Ben Hoes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Czeslaw Lisewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Super Team's zone, Albert Baltian stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toader Purcărete came out of the goal and Albert Baltian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The ProRapid players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
