Spectators: 7946 (Terracing: 5967, Seating: 1829, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gelu Feraru started the match with the kick off. Emilian Văduvescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Ekhemos Kezdoglou made a huge save. After 10 minutes FC Acatar's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cornel Panaitescu who took care of the corner kick. Old Boys's Cornel Panaitescu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ekhemos Kezdoglou in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Dacian Ecobescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alin Chiru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Acatar's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Octav Tănasă in the 13th minute. A collision led to Old Boys getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Emilian Badea hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandu Ţipirig in the 19th minute of play forced Old Boys's goalkeeper Dacian Ecobescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When FC Acatar's Nicu Vornicu in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Old Boys's goalie prevented a goal. Ekhemos Kezdoglou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gelu Feraru in the 27th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Alin Chiru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dacian Ecobescu was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. FC Acatar's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Octav Tănasă in the 34th minute. A nice corner shot did that Octav Tănasă got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dacian Ecobescu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Alin Chiru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alin Chiru came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the FC Acatar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alin Chiru couldn't finish the play. Dacian Ecobescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alin Chiru, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Gelu Feraru's late challenge caught a FC Acatar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gelu Feraru helped the player get up and apologised. Gelu Feraru kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alin Chiru was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Gelu Feraru made a precise shot to the right of Ekhemos Kezdoglou. FC Acatar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Dacian Ecobescu was out of position in the 54 minute of play, and Nicu Vornicu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nicu Vornicu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. In the 57th minute, one of Old Boys:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Old Boys. In the 58th minute, Nicu Vornicu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dacian Ecobescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Alin Chiru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dacian Ecobescu having to interfere. Alin Chiru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dacian Ecobescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Ekhemos Kezdoglou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gelu Feraru, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 66 minutes into the match, Old Boys's goalkeeper Dacian Ecobescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alin Chiru. Alin Chiru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The FC Acatar fans' excitement grew in the 69th match minute when FC Acatar's Alin Chiru looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 73 minutes into the game, Dominic Szoboszlai was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Old Boys's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Acatar the free kick. After a rather tough play, Old Boys's Dominic Szoboszlai got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 75th minute, Dominic Szoboszlai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dacian Ecobescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alin Chiru in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84thth minute of the game Alin Chiru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Old Boys's Dacian Ecobescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nicu Vornicu had several of the Old Boys's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 88 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-5 score and a disappointed Dacian Ecobescu as he didn't even see the shot coming. When Nicu Vornicu fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Acatar's protests and gave Nicu Vornicu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd minute, Nicu Vornicu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emilian Văduvescu scored 2-5 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ekhemos Kezdoglou, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The FC Acatar supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Acatar would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
