Cătălin Chiliman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Dacian Ecobescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horea Cucu in the 8th minute of play forced Old Boys's goalkeeper Dacian Ecobescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Horea Cucu came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Pufulete fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horea Cucu couldn't finish the play. After 15 minutes of play, Pufulete's Horea Cucu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dacian Ecobescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 18th minute, Horea Cucu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pufulete fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Dacian Ecobescu came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Pufulete's Horea Cucu. But to his dismay, Horea Cucu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. A sloppy throw-in by Dorin Stroiescu in the 25th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Pufulete's Gavril Bosioc. In the 26th minute, Horea Cucu made a precise shot to the right of Dacian Ecobescu. Old Boys's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Dacian Ecobescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horea Cucu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pufulete's Gavril Bosioc quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Dorin Stroiescu, made in the 35th minute of the game. 37 minutes into the match, Horea Cucu notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of Old Boys's Dacian Ecobescu. Dacian Ecobescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dacian Ecobescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horea Cucu in the 41st minute of the match. Horea Cucu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dacian Ecobescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th minute Horea Cucu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dacian Ecobescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pufulete's attentive Gavril Bosioc managed to snatch the ball when Dorin Stroiescu made a throw-in in the 47th minute of the game. The Old Boys players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Pufulete were winning 0-6.

Dacian Ecobescu made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Horea Cucu sent off a good shot on target. If Horea Cucu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pufulete's goalkeeper Dumitru Neața, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Old Boys's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cornel Panaitescu in the 59th minute. A nice corner shot did that Cornel Panaitescu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dumitru Neața quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Dacian Ecobescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horea Cucu in the 65th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Georgi Asparuhov in the 67th minute of play forced Pufulete's goalkeeper Dumitru Neața to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Pufulete booed when Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isac Badea didn't get a good kick on the ball. A throw-in in the 71st minute of the game was made by Irinel Șeicaru with Dorin Stroiescu as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 72nd minute of the match, Horea Cucu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dacian Ecobescu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 78 minutes into the game, Isac Badea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Old Boys's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pufulete the free kick. In the 78th minute, Isac Badea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
