Giorgos Petkakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alesandro Del Piero in the 9th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Panagiotis Lazaris during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 10 played minutes Porta got a freekick which was hit by Panagiotis Lazaris. 12 minutes into the game, Greek Saints's Fanis Thanos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Giorgos Petkakis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Giorgos Petkakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fanis Thanos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 21 minutes, Alesandro Del Piero made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Porta's Giorgos Petkakis tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. But to his dismay, Fanis Thanos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

The wind increased when Alesandro Del Piero made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Porta's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcus Senna was slow to take the kick. During this time Greek Saints's players had a chance to rest. Fanis Thanos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Giorgos Petkakis firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Fanis Thanos came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Greek Saints fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fanis Thanos couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alesandro Del Piero in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giorgos Petkakis saved Porta from getting behind. After 62nd play minutes Fanis Thanos shot 0-7, a short shot which went by Giorgos Petkakis and just under the crossbar into goal. After some careless play in the Porta defense, Fanis Thanos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Giorgos Petkakis. The Porta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Giorgos Petkakis should have stopped the shot. Alesandro Del Piero succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-9 in the 70th playminute. With a little luck, Porta's Giorgos Petkakis got control of the ball when Fanis Thanos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Greek Saints's Alesandro Del Piero was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 77th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Benê de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Panagiotis Lazaris in the 96th minute of play. Greek Saints played a much better game than Porta and deserved their victory. The Porta players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
