Arif Buğra Talip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Necaettin Temircan having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Şinasi Özbal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A beautiful save bye Göztepe SKR's goalie prevented a goal. If Bulut Adıgüzel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Göztepe SKR's Nejat Alp Nafi got a free kick in the 42nd minute. 44 minutes in the game Cenk Varan got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arif Buğra Talip made a kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Göztepe SKR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nejat Alp Nafi to maneuver through the defense. The attack was good, but when Arif Buğra Talip in the 58th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. If Şinasi Özbal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Göztepe SKR's Ali Cengiz Süvari got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Göztepe SKR's zone, Arif Buğra Talip stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Necaettin Temircan came out of the goal and Arif Buğra Talip tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 74 minutes into the match, Murgul's Arif Buğra Talip sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Necaettin Temircan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 77th minute of the match, Abdi Mehmet Hattat tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Abdullah Direnç saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Arif Buğra Talip sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Şinasi Özbal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Abdullah Direnç made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdi Mehmet Hattat in the 89th minute of play. After 93 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Göztepe SKR! There was no doubt that Murgul were the better team. Murgul's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
