When Mithat Akkılıç came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Istanbul Bosphorus fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mithat Akkılıç couldn't finish the play. Mithat Akkılıç might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over İsmet Tecik. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mithat Akkılıç ran back to his position shaking his head. Mithat Akkılıç took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised İsmet Tecik. İsmet Tecik dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The supporters of Istanbul Bosphorus booed when Erenköy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruhi Vuralhan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fuat Afşar in the 48thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mustafa Hamit Orbey, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The Erenköy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Istanbul Bosphorus were winning 0-1.

In the 52nd minute, Fuat Afşar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mustafa Hamit Orbey was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Bulut Sayılgan's late challenge caught a Erenköy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bulut Sayılgan helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Istanbul Bosphorus's Bulut Sayılgan got a free kick in the 60th minute. If Fuat Afşar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fuat Afşar in the 67th minute of play forced Istanbul Bosphorus's goalkeeper Mustafa Hamit Orbey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fuat Afşar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mustafa Hamit Orbey having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Istanbul Bosphorus's Nusrettin Geylanoğlu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Nusrettin Geylanoğlu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Istanbul Bosphorus protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Nusrettin Geylanoğlu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Fuat Afşar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
