Anıl Arda Tüzünalp shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. When Muhittin Muhtar fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored İstanbul United's protests and gave Muhittin Muhtar a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, İstanbul United's Muhittin Muhtar got a free kick in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Ataköy FK's Anıl Arda Tüzünalp broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 18 played minutes Ataköy FK got a freekick which was hit by Tarık Ergenç. Refik Halit Candemir was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 18th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After some careless play in the İstanbul United defense, Cankut Adar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bahadır Uyun. The İstanbul United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bahadır Uyun should have stopped the shot. With 25 minutes on the clock, Ahmet Çağrı Babaoğlu commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Ataköy FK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of İstanbul United:s goal. Hürkan Çetinalp had in the 27thth minute some difficulties stopping Refik Halit Candemir's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After having played for 30 minutes, Ahmet Boran Utku managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ataköy FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ahmet Boran Utku was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Atay Balabey kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Bahadır Uyun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Boran Utku, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ahmet Boran Utku sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ahmet Arif Timurozs short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Hürkan Çetinalp to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tarkan Özdoa was the one to do the kick off. Ahmet Arif Timuroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tarkan Özdoa in the 70th minute of play forced Ataköy FK's goalkeeper Hürkan Çetinalp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ahmet Arif Timuroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute Tarkan Özdoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hürkan Çetinalp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The İstanbul United fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when İstanbul United's Ahmet Arif Timuroz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Tarkan Özdoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, Ataköy FK's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Arif Timuroz came free, but Hürkan Çetinalp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. İstanbul United's Ahmet Arif Timuroz got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ataköy FK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
