Ceyhan Ortun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Yunusemre spor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ceyhan Ortun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Yunusemre spor's goal looked a bit too open when Orhan Veli Iğdırlı came free, but Gürhan Hezarfen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erdi Acaröz hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orhan Veli Iğdırlı in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gürhan Hezarfen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Erdi Acaröz kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Gürhan Hezarfen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orhan Veli Iğdırlı in the 31st minute of play. Göktürk Arıhan kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Orhan Veli Iğdırlı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gürhan Hezarfen having to interfere. When Hacı Yıldıray fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yunusemre spor's protests and gave Hacı Yıldıray a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Yunusemre spor getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Hacı Yıldıray hit a great ball. If Gazanfer Özcan Kelim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ceyhan Ortun to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Yunusemre spor's goalkeeper Gürhan Hezarfen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orhan Veli Iğdırlı. Orhan Veli Iğdırlı sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute of the match, Gazanfer Özcan Kelim tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gürhan Hezarfen saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orhan Veli Iğdırlı got free with Gürhan Hezarfen in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Van's Kutalp Öztanır played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nejat Alp Sevimli in the 74th minute of play. In the 75th minute, Nejat Alp Sevimli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Orhan Veli Iğdırlı received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Gürhan Hezarfen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gazanfer Özcan Kelim in the 83rd minute of play forced Yunusemre spor's goalkeeper Gürhan Hezarfen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th match minute, Yunusemre spor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sancarbey Urkan to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Orhan Veli Iğdırlı managed to get in a good position for a shot. Van's supporters rose to their feet, but Orhan Veli Iğdırlı was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gürhan Hezarfen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ceyhan Ortun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kutalp Öztanır read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Berke Özkul got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
