The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kutalp Öztanır showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bayhan Koçak, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. In the 8th minute Koray İksir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kutalp Öztanır saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Van booed when Ultraslan FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Koray İksir didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kutalp Öztanır made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bayhan Koçak in the 14th minute of play. The long shot by İshak Yücel in the 17th minute really tested Kudret Kuyas's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Kudret Kuyas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gazanfer Özcan Kelim, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Burak Karaca kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Kudret Kuyas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Orhan Veli Iğdırlı in the 27th minute. Kudret Kuyas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gazanfer Özcan Kelim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Özal Ulualp kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Ultraslan FK's Kudret Kuyas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Ultraslan FK from getting a goal against them. After 47 minutes of play, Ultraslan FK's Bayhan Koçak made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kutalp Öztanır was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

55 minutes into the game, Asım Geçimoğlu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Van's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ultraslan FK the free kick. After 55 played minutes Van got a freekick which was hit by Asım Geçimoğlu. If Bayhan Koçak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Özal Ulualp kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Van's Gazanfer Özcan Kelim got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 67th minute, Ultraslan FK's Koray İksir dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Kudret Kuyas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orhan Veli Iğdırlı in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th match minute, Van was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Özal Ulualp to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute, Özal Ulualp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kutalp Öztanır was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Koray İksir showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 82 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ultraslan FK's Zühtü Vasif got a free kick in the 85th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orhan Veli Iğdırlı in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kudret Kuyas saved Ultraslan FK from getting behind. Kutalp Öztanır took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Koray İksir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Koray İksir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Kutalp Öztanır tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samir Sabit in the 97th minute of play forced Van's goalkeeper Kutalp Öztanır to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ultraslan FK played a much better game than Van and deserved their victory. The Van players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
