Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Halit Fahri Sadi took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 3rd play minutes Orhan Veli Iğdırlı shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Samim Yöntem and just under the crossbar into goal. When Umut Ağar fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fethiye FK's protests and gave Umut Ağar a yellow card for diving instead. Umut Ağar hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Samim Yöntem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gazanfer Özcan Kelim, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. If Orhan Veli Iğdırlı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gazanfer Özcan Kelim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Van's Berk Karaalp got a free kick in the 18th minute. Orhan Veli Iğdırlı received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Samim Yöntem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Göktürk Arıhan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kutalp Öztanır was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Kaptan Hayal. In the 29th minute, Halit Fahri Sadi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Van's Gazanfer Özcan Kelim got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orhan Veli Iğdırlı in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Samim Yöntem saved Fethiye FK from getting behind. Kaptan Hayal hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The supporters of Fethiye FK booed when Van was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Özal Ulualp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Halit Fahri Sadi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kutalp Öztanır having to interfere. After the first half Van were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gazanfer Özcan Kelim stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 69th minute Seyhan Ülküm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kutalp Öztanır saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Fethiye FK's goalkeeper Samim Yöntem had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orhan Veli Iğdırlı. Samim Yöntem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gazanfer Özcan Kelim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kutalp Öztanır took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seyhan Ülküm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samim Yöntem acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 81st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Asım Geçimoğlu. In the 88th minute, Seyhan Ülküm got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 89th match minute, Van was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Asım Geçimoğlu to maneuver through the defense. After 91 played minutes Fethiye FK got a freekick which was hit by Gökçen Engiay.
