Ercüment Baysu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Seyfi Semin having to interfere. Ahmet Seyfi Semin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ercüment Baysu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th minute, Bayezit Besim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sabanözü's Sarper Akabe got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hakkı Kenan Kartekin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Ahmet Seyfi Semin managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Sabanözü's Hakkı Kenan Kartekin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Sarper Akabe struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Ahmet Seyfi Semin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sabanözü. A collision led to Sabanözü getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Ahmet Bülent Ekiner hit a great ball. Anıl Berk Gürgen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Akgün Uygar during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 31 minutes into the match, Ankaragücü's goal looked a bit too open when Cihangir Ersayın came free, but Ahmet Seyfi Semin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Ankaragücü getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Bayezit Besim hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute, Ercüment Baysu fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ahmet Seyfi Semin, passed just outside the right post. Ahmet Seyfi Semin made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Hakkı Kenan Kartekin sent off a good shot on target. Ankaragücü's Ahmet Seyfi Semin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cihangir Ersayın in the 36th minute of play. When Volkan Sorgun came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Sabanözü fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Volkan Sorgun couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Sabanözü's Volkan Sorgun slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ahmet Seyfi Semin. That made the score 2-0 after 39 minutes of play. 42 minutes into the game, Aşık İşkembeci was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sabanözü's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ankaragücü the free kick. In the 42nd minute, Aşık İşkembeci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hakkı Kenan Kartekin got free with Ahmet Seyfi Semin in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Ankaragücü's Ahmet Seyfi Semin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cihangir Ersayın in the 53rd minute of play. Ahmet Seyfi Semin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sarper Akabe in the 54th minute of play. Cihangir Ersayın received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ahmet Seyfi Semin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Ankaragücü's Batu Cem Beşir threw himself towards the right post 64 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Anıl Berk Gürgen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Batu Cem Beşir made an important save on a dangerous shot by Akgün Uygar in the 65th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Ankaragücü's goal looked a bit too open when Cihangir Ersayın came free, but Ahmet Seyfi Semin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ahmet Seyfi Semin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cihangir Ersayın, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Cihangir Ersayın sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 98 minutes into the game, Hakkı Kenan Kartekin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Ahmet Seyfi Semin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
