Rıfkı Sebukalp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Mithat Atasagun made a huge save. 6 minutes into the game, one of Ankaragücü:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Yakut Ayaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute, Acar Gezer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute, Balamir Kayansel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ali Haydar Oğuzata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ankaragücü's Ali Haydar Oğuzata was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mithat Atasagun in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 32 minutes into the match, Ankaragücü's goal looked a bit too open when Balamir Kayansel came free, but Rafael Eguen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind sisli's goalkeeper Mithat Atasagun, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 37 minutes into the game, Kenan Kapar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Ankaragücü fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafael Eguen should have stopped the shot. When Balamir Kayansel came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the sisli fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Balamir Kayansel couldn't finish the play. Ali Haydar Oğuzata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Mithat Atasagun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Balamir Kayansel to strike the kick off in the second half. After 69 minutes, Artaç Şahinalp mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the sisli and the Ankaragücü players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 69th match minute, sisli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artaç Şahinalp to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 70 minutes, Rıfkı Sebukalp managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ankaragücü's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rıfkı Sebukalp was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 72 minutes into the game, Artaç Şahinalp cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Rafael Eguen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 77 played minutes sisli got a freekick which was hit by Rafet Özak. The supporters of Ankaragücü booed when sisli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Batu Cem Sulasi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in sisli's zone, Ali Haydar Oğuzata stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mithat Atasagun came out of the goal and Ali Haydar Oğuzata tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rafael Eguen made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Yakut Ayaz sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Balamir Kayansel in the 93rd minute of play forced Ankaragücü's goalkeeper Rafael Eguen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kenan Kapar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mithat Atasagun having to interfere.
