The referee ignored Trabzonspor's protests and gave İsrafil Babürşah a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Trabzonspor's İsrafil Babürşah got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 5 minutes into the match, Zeki Fırıncıoğlu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hadi Bedel. Trabzonspor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zeki Fırıncıoğlu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 13 minutes into the match, Zeki Fırıncıoğlu notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Trabzonspor's Hadi Bedel. Hadi Bedel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Faruk Nafiz Safa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Faruk Nafiz Safa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cankut Mansız having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Witold Sitko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 26 minutes of play, Kurucesme SK's Zeki Fırıncıoğlu made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hadi Bedel was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 31 minutes, Faruk Nafiz Safa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trabzonspor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faruk Nafiz Safa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Peio Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zeki Fırıncıoğlu took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hadi Bedel. Hadi Bedel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. In the 44th minute of the game Antônio Carlos Tasso made a throw-in which Tugay Alkım played forward. The supporters of Trabzonspor booed when Kurucesme SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tugay Alkım didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Kurucesme SK were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Zeki Fırıncıoğlu made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Witold Sitko recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hadi Bedel. Witold Sitko showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. If Peio Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Faruk Nafiz Safa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cankut Mansız having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Faruk Nafiz Safa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trabzonspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Faruk Nafiz Safa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cankut Mansız breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 70 minutes into the match, Trabzonspor's goalkeeper Hadi Bedel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zeki Fırıncıoğlu. In the 73rd match minute, Kurucesme SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeki Fırıncıoğlu to maneuver through the defense. Cevat Acartürk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Zeki Fırıncıoğlu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hadi Bedel. That made the score 0-8 in the 80 minute of play. Hadi Bedel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucila Tutkevich, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Zeki Fırıncıoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kurucesme SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Zeki Fırıncıoğlu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hadi Bedel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hadi Bedel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeki Fırıncıoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Kurucesme SK had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
