The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Armando Maradona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cankut Mansız was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 6th match minute, Kurucesme SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Carlos Tasso to maneuver through the defense. Cankut Mansız showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Holger Fastesson in the 8th minute of the match. Cankut Mansız took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Maradona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Kurucesme SK booed when SH Futbol Kulübü was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Ekialde didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kurucesme SK's Cankut Mansız played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Maradona in the 14th minute of play. Cankut Mansız was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Holger Fastesson in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cankut Mansız saved Kurucesme SK from getting behind. Cankut Mansız didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Armando Maradona went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind SH Futbol Kulübü's goalkeeper Batur Tarhan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cankut Mansız showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xurdin Paredes in the 39th minute of the match. In the 46th minute, Peio Bueno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Holger Fastessons short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Cankut Mansız to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cankut Mansız was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Armando Maradona capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Armando Maradona really showed his touch with that goal: 0-11. SH Futbol Kulübü made a substitution. Mustafa Haydar Çiftçioğlu replaced Armando Maradona. 84 minutes into the game, Holger Fastesson lined in a short shot 0-12 behind a frustrated Cankut Mansız.
