An unexpectedly hard shot by Emiliano Fidele in the 12th minute of play forced Memphis Grizzlies's goalkeeper Donald Fenwick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Memphis Grizzlies's goal looked a bit too open when Emiliano Fidele came free, but Donald Fenwick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Vinicio Carballeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 16th minute Vinicio Carballeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Neil Long saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronny Theobold hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 19 minutes, Donald Fenwick successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a little luck, Memphis Grizzlies's Donald Fenwick got control of the ball when Sebati Çiftçibaşı tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebati Çiftçibaşı got free with Donald Fenwick in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Donald Fenwick managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when Harchester United's Emiliano Fidele fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Memphis Grizzlies's Donald Fenwick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiliano Fidele in the 25th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vinicio Carballeira in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Neil Long saved Harchester United from getting behind. In the 28th minute Sebati Çiftçibaşı shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donald Fenwick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emiliano Fidele sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the match, Vinicio Carballeira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Neil Long. Harchester United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vinicio Carballeira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Vinicio Carballeira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Neil Long having to make a save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The Harchester United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Neil Long should have stopped the shot. Memphis Grizzlies's Stuart Banks was substituted for Vinicio Carballeira. If Sebati Çiftçibaşı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harchester United's Pedro Branch was substituted for Sebati Çiftçibaşı. Randall Burton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donald Fenwick having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Pedro Branch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donald Fenwick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donald Fenwick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Randall Burton, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stuart Banks in the 88th minute of play forced Harchester United's goalkeeper Neil Long to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Harchester United's Neil Long played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stuart Banks in the 90th minute of play.
