Spectators: 10300 (Terracing: 7725, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) After having played for 3 minutes, Carmelo Tiniebra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carmelo Tiniebra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 5 played minutes U21 Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Carmelo Tiniebra. Romulo Otsoa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Llanos in the 9th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, U21 Chile's goalkeeper Peyo Kaadekilde had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Braulio Abel. León Collado hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute Raimundo Tupper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romulo Otsoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raimundo Tupper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romulo Otsoa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Dávila in the 25th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, U21 Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Carmelo Tiniebra came free, but Peyo Kaadekilde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, U21 Chile's Peyo Kaadekilde got control of the ball when Braulio Abel tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as U21 Mexico's Carmelo Tiniebra slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Peyo Kaadekilde. That made the score 1-0 after 31 minutes of play. Romulo Otsoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo Tupper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulino Oyarzún kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The supporters of U21 Mexico booed when U21 Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chano Garrido didn't get a good kick on the ball.

U21 Mexico's Rogelio Otsando was substituted for Anselmo Ganix. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carmelo Tiniebra to make the kick off. David Llanos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romulo Otsoa having to interfere. A throw-in in the 59th minute of the game was made by Rolando Solares with David Llanos as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Raimundo Tupper who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Romulo Otsoa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Mexico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Chano Garrido was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Chile's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Chano Garrido got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Romulo Otsoa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, U21 Mexico's Romulo Otsoa got control of the ball when Paulino Oyarzún tried to sneak it across the goal line. Romulo Otsoa made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when David Llanos sent off a good shot on target. In the 71st minute, Rolando Solares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Chile made a substitution. Edgardo Abdallah replaced Paulino Oyarzún. U21 Chile's Pedro Tomás Macaya was substituted for Raimundo Tupper. After 73 played minutes U21 Chile got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Solares. Edgardo Abdallah hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Etxahun in the 76th minute of play forced U21 Chile's goalkeeper Peyo Kaadekilde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the match, U21 Chile's Felo Gol sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Romulo Otsoa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Mexico's goalkeeper Romulo Otsoa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Samuel Etxahun took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Peyo Kaadekilde. Peyo Kaadekilde dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After 90 played minutes U21 Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Marco Matei. A collision led to U21 Chile getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Edmundo Dávila hit a great ball. Salvador Mateluna made in the 95th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Felo Gol immediately put the ball in play. U21 Mexico were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of U21 Chile for a fine match.
