Seating: 237, VIP seats: 20) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Hakan Karabasov took the kick off in the first half of the match. 9 minutes into the match, U21 Turkey's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Tschida came free, but Onur-Recep Kıvrak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Austria's Hans-Jürgen Pötscher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rıfkı Pekant in the 11th minute of play. After some careless play in the U21 Austria defense, Ahmet İlke Beşer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hans-Jürgen Pötscher. The U21 Austria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hans-Jürgen Pötscher should have stopped the shot. U21 Austria's Hans-Jürgen Pötscher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hakan Karabasov in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Hubert Finken had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Onur-Recep Kıvrak. U21 Turkey's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hubert Finken was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Tschida in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Onur-Recep Kıvrak saved U21 Turkey from getting behind. In the 20thth minute of the game Daniel Tschida who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Turkey's Onur-Recep Kıvrak was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rıfkı Pekant in the 23rd minute of play forced U21 Austria's goalkeeper Hans-Jürgen Pötscher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U21 Turkey's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ahmet Hamdi Baran in the 25th minute. Ahmet Hamdi Baran made a great header on U21 Turkey's corner, it was just that U21 Austria's Hans-Jürgen Pötscher managed to reach the ball for a save. After a rather tough play, U21 Austria's Andre Kraft got a free kick in the 28th minute. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hakan Karabasov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Hubert Finken came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the U21 Austria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hubert Finken couldn't finish the play. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rıfkı Pekant in the 35th minute of play. In the 41st minute of the match U21 Turkey got a corner. U21 Austria's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ahmet Hamdi Baran ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ahmet İlke Beşer was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. U21 Turkey's Onur-Recep Kıvrak proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Turkey from getting a goal against them. Rıfat Baykal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans-Jürgen Pötscher having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Tschida to make the kick off. Hakan Karabasov's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Hans-Jürgen Pötscher skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Hakan Karabasov struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Turkey. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet İlke Beşer in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th match minute, U21 Turkey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rıfat Baykal to maneuver through the defense. Onur-Recep Kıvrak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andre Kraft, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. 65 minutes into the match, U21 Austria's goalkeeper Hans-Jürgen Pötscher had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hakan Karabasov. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hakan Karabasov got free with Hans-Jürgen Pötscher in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Hakan Karabasov sent off a good shot on target. Onur-Recep Kıvrak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Tschida, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 76th minute, Ahmet İlke Beşer reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hans-Jürgen Pötscher. The goal made the score 1-3. U21 Turkey's Franck Ribéry was substituted for Rıfkı Pekant. U21 Turkey's İlbey Tunçdağ was substituted for Hakan Karabasov. 83 minutes into the match, İlbey Tunçdağ dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hans-Jürgen Pötscher, 1-4. The crowd rose to their feet as U21 Turkey's İlbey Tunçdağ slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hans-Jürgen Pötscher. That made the score 1-5 after 87 minutes of play. İlbey Tunçdağ could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Hans-Jürgen Pötscher made a huge save. 92 minutes into the match, U21 Turkey's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Tschida came free, but Onur-Recep Kıvrak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
