U21 Mexico made a substitution. Tiburcio Herauso replaced Damaso Jatsu. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jano Andrade to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Nicolas Romero made a precise shot to the right of Gianluca Kán. U21 Mexico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Romero in the 56th minute of play forced U21 Mexico's goalkeeper Gianluca Kán to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eusébio Angelsø in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gianluca Kán prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
