With a little luck, Brazil's Fábio Lopes got control of the ball when Liberto Socho tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrianinho Corrêa in the 13th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gianluigi Donnarumma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrianinho Corrêa in the 17th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute of the match, Don Luis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fábio Lopes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicolas Vargas in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gianluigi Donnarumma saved Chile from getting behind. Gianluigi Donnarumma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrianinho Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Fábio Lopes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 43rd minute, Adrianinho Corrêa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th match minute, Brazil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. When Kurt Cobain came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Chile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kurt Cobain couldn't finish the play. If Liberto Socho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Chile players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Brazil were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Liberto Socho made the kick off in the second half. Fábio Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liberto Socho in the 53rd minute of the match. Liberto Socho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Fábio Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 73 minutes of play, Chile's Amador Olmos made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fábio Lopes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gianluigi Donnarumma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfredo Passos in the 80th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Amador Olmos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fábio Lopes was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. After 93 minutes Brazil's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kurt Cobain who took care of the corner kick. Kurt Cobain made a great header on Chile's corner, it was just that Brazil's Fábio Lopes managed to reach the ball for a save. Kurt Cobain's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Fábio Lopes on his right side and into the goal. 93 minutes into the game it was 2-1. Brazil's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
