U21 Australia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adam Cole in the 13th minute. Pirmin Lizaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Guy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Robert Guy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pirmin Lizaso was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Jimmy Hendrix hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Lordi Tejeda took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Myles Kile. U21 Australia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Jimmy Hendrix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes into the match, U21 Australia's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Fuentes came free, but Myles Kile reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oliver Atom in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Myles Kile prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pirmin Lizaso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Guy in the 45th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robert Guy got free with Pirmin Lizaso in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

U21 Colombia's Rodrigo Verastegui was substituted for Atauri Dragranda. U21 Colombia's Bela Mutiloa was substituted for Juan Fuentes. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oliver Atom to strike the kick off in the second half. Rodrigo Verastegui's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Myles Kile read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. U21 Australia's Myles Kile proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Australia from getting a goal against them. The supporters of U21 Australia booed when U21 Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bela Mutiloa didn't get a good kick on the ball. U21 Australia's Son Min was substituted for Dugald Mcgregor. U21 Australia's Robert Guy got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Corder Pukallus took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pirmin Lizaso. Pirmin Lizaso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Pirmin Lizaso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Guy, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Rayman Ceja hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. U21 Australia made a substitution. Jackson Mealmaker replaced Robert Guy. The supporters of U21 Australia booed when U21 Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rayman Ceja didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pirmin Lizaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Corder Pukallus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 87 minutes into the match, U21 Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Jackson Mealmaker came free, but Pirmin Lizaso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th match minute, U21 Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lordi Tejeda to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jackson Mealmaker in the 89th minute of play forced U21 Colombia's goalkeeper Pirmin Lizaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute, Bernie Conlin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Australia's Corder Pukallus managed to work through U21 Colombia's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Corder Pukallus dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Jackson Mealmaker took the ball and in the 98 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pirmin Lizaso. Pirmin Lizaso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0.
