The supporters of U21 Spain booed when U21 Norway was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikkel Lyng didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 7 minutes, Charly Viander managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Spain's supporters crossed their fingers, but Charly Viander was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Raúl González received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Rune Ranum tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tom Aspelund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Monte Uria made a huge save. After 12 played minutes U21 Spain got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Alonso. U21 Spain's Monte Uria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johnny Štriker in the 13th minute of play. Charly Viander scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rune Ranum, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnny Štriker in the 22nd minute of play forced U21 Spain's goalkeeper Monte Uria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rune Ranum stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Charly Viander's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. The audience was convinced that Charly Viander's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rune Ranum was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Rune Ranum took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charly Viander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charly Viander in the 32nd minute of play forced U21 Norway's goalkeeper Rune Ranum to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37thth minute of the game Charly Viander who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Norway's Rune Ranum was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 40 minutes into the match, U21 Norway's goal looked a bit too open when Charly Viander came free, but Rune Ranum reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rune Ranum came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Spain's Charly Viander. But to his dismay, Charly Viander quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Rune Ranum didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Charly Viander went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tom Aspelund to make the kick off. U21 Norway's Rune Ranum played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charly Viander in the 52nd minute of play. After 53 minutes U21 Norway's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cristo Solana who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Cristo Solana got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rune Ranum quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 57th minute, Charly Viander ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rune Ranum was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Charly Viander kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rune Ranum. That made the score 0-5 in the 61 minute of play. Monte Uria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tom Aspelund, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After 71 played minutes U21 Norway got a freekick which was hit by Severin Vie. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in U21 Spain reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Aspelund in the 77th minute of play forced U21 Spain's goalkeeper Monte Uria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, U21 Norway's Philip Fretheim got a free kick in the 81st minute. U21 Spain's Cristo Solana shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 83rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Rune Ranum but with some difficulty. When Xoan Morientes fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Spain's protests and gave Xoan Morientes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 86th minute, one of U21 Spain:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for U21 Spain. U21 Spain:s Monte Uria showed great skill when he stopped Carl Soltvedt:s penalty. 88 minutes into the game, Carl Soltvedt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Monte Uria was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rune Ranum took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eskuin Gonzáles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eskuin Gonzáles in the 93rd minute of play forced U21 Norway's goalkeeper Rune Ranum to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rune Ranum made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Raymond Serra sent off a good shot on target. Tom Aspelund hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. 99 minutes into the match, U21 Norway's goalkeeper Rune Ranum had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raymond Serra. The U21 Spain supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing U21 Spain would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
