Kirill Cherkashin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hadiman Habib in the 9th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Indonesia's goal looked a bit too open when Pavel Chernov came free, but Boaz Lisandri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Russia's Karl Lavrentev was substituted for Egor Simonov. Boaz Lisandri didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pavel Dzhevetskiy went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Hadiman Habib put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Kirill Cherkashin. In the 24thth minute of the game Pavel Dzhevetskiy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Indonesia's Boaz Lisandri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 25th minute Russia were awarded a corner. Pavel Dzhevetskiy went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Pavel Chernov almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Indonesia's Boaz Lisandri did a great save. In the 28th minute, Hadiman Habib reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kirill Cherkashin. The goal made the score 3-2. In the 40th minute Pavel Dzhevetskiy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boaz Lisandri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hadiman Habib could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Kirill Cherkashin made a huge save.

Russia made a substitution. Maksim Fedaev replaced Dragan Bošnjak. After 52 minutes of play, Indonesia's Hadiman Habib made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kirill Cherkashin was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 55 minutes, Pavel Dzhevetskiy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Russia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pavel Dzhevetskiy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Indonesia's Cosmas Sihombing was substituted for Gery Barkawi. A sloppy throw-in by Gandung Tarmadi in the 58th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Russia's Sergey Lubotskiy. Hadiman Habib took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kirill Cherkashin. Kirill Cherkashin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-2. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Russia's goalkeeper Kirill Cherkashin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by Russia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mourent Bachtiar was slow to take the kick. During this time Indonesia's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Indonesia's Hadiman Habib to a score. 7-2 in the 64th minute. Indonesia's Aep Sujana was substituted for Husni Haeruddin. Russia's Sergey Lubotskiy managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Gandung Tarmadi in the 69 minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pavel Dzhevetskiy in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Boaz Lisandri prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kirill Cherkashin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andre Riyanto, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 77th minute Andre Riyanto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kirill Cherkashin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andre Riyanto in the 81st minute of play forced Russia's goalkeeper Kirill Cherkashin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Indonesia getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Abas Saputra hit a great ball. Pavel Dzhevetskiy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Boaz Lisandri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Indonesia's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
