With a little luck, South Africa's William Tau got control of the ball when Luisito Benitez tried to sneak it across the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Philippines's goal looked a bit too open when Lindo Mumede came free, but Bayan Yase reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bayan Yase made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lindo Kerns in the 19th minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Melusi Madiba was the one to do the kick off.
