U21 United States's Earl Marcus got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 8 minutes into the match, U21 Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Earl Marcus came free, but Engelbert Sellmer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Earl Marcus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Engelbert Sellmer. U21 Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Earl Marcus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Engelbert Sellmer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stevie Horton in the 15th minute of play. U21 Germany's Engelbert Sellmer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Earl Marcus in the 16th minute of play. Engelbert Sellmer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stevie Horton in the 18th minute of the match. Desmond Honeycutt kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. The supporters of U21 Germany booed when U21 United States was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sanford Dill didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robert Döffinger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Wyatt Flanagan made a huge save. Robert Döffinger might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wyatt Flanagan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robert Döffinger ran back to his position shaking his head. Wyatt Flanagan made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Robert Döffinger sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Boyles in the 31st minute of play forced U21 Germany's goalkeeper Engelbert Sellmer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Engelbert Sellmer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Earl Marcus in the 33rd minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, U21 United States's Earl Marcus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Engelbert Sellmer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Engelbert Sellmer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Earl Marcus in the 38th minute of play. The supporters of U21 United States booed when U21 Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Georg Schnell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robert Döffinger in the 47thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Wyatt Flanagan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

U21 Germany made a substitution. Micki Bulgakov replaced Heinrich Mann. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eibo Nacht made a kick off. In the 55th minute, Oliver Maringer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Germany's Ocke Rettenberger was substituted for Georg Schnell. After 59 played minutes U21 United States got a freekick which was hit by Stevie Horton. U21 Germany's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Stevie Horton scored to the left of an out of position Engelbert Sellmer, making the score, 0-3. Wyatt Flanagan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Schnabel in the 71st minute of play. Engelbert Sellmer was a little too slow when Van Chapman got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 0-4. U21 Germany's Engelbert Sellmer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Van Chapman in the 82nd minute of play. Wyatt Flanagan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raul Schnabel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute, Prospero Zanter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Raul Schnabel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Schnabel in the 86th minute of play forced U21 United States's goalkeeper Wyatt Flanagan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wyatt Flanagan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eibo Nacht in the 89th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute Raul Schnabel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wyatt Flanagan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raul Schnabel took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wyatt Flanagan. Wyatt Flanagan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. The U21 Germany fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. U21 United States were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
